E-Commerce Manager


Avon is looking for an E-Commerce  Manager accountable for assuring the right Digital Strategy is in place for IMED Cluster (including Portugal, Spain, Italy and Greece) in alignment with commercial priorities.


The role focuses on the following areas:

–       Lead the ongoing development of websites, platforms, tools and apps;

–       Develop Digital Representative experience (e-brochure, on boarding, tutorial);

–       Create IMED content marketing strategy, , with the aim to attract and retain Customers and increase offline and online sales;

–       Brainstorm promotional strategies to drive sales and conversions;

–       Brainstorm and test lead generation strategies to increase subscriber base;

–       Oversee E-commerce & Digital projects;

–       Assure alignment between Avon Global Digital strategy and IMED ones;

–       Ensure alignment between Digital and Commercial / Local Marketing plans to maximize revenue and profit;

–       Provide direction to and be responsible for day-to-day management of the Team (E-commerce Business developer, App Business Owner, E- Merchandiser, Digital Content Specialist, Web Specialist, Digital support) and build a strong and effective organization;

–       Champion Digital best practice in the market.


Principal Duties

–    Plan and deliver an effective Digital Strategy for IMED

–    Lead the ongoing development of websites/platforms/tool

–    Champion best Digital practice marketing

–    Provide direction to and be responsible for day-to-day management of the Cluster Digital

–    Team and build a strong and effective organization

 –   Assure alignment between Avon Global Digital strategy and IMED


Job Requirements:


Education required

  –   Master degree preferably in Marketing, Master’s Degree in Economics and Management/  Engineering, Digital technologies, Digital comms or other relevant fields. A Master on Digital fields is considered a plus

 –   Proven successful work experience as “digital native” (always working in Digital /E-commerce area) and in the commercial side (how to grow revenue and profit through Digital) in other international Companies (not only Agency experience) with multi-countries and multi-cultural Teams, preferably a multi-channel retailer and/or a direct selling organization.


Special Skills required for position:

–    Strong understanding and experience of on-line business, marketing, content management and systems (e.g. SEO, SEM, CRM, Google analytics, etc.)

–       Fluent (oral and written) English

Business Expertise:

 –       Position will report solid into IMED E-commerce Director

–       Coordination and integration with Global and Western Europe Digital, IMED Commercial Marketing, Country Local Marketing and Field activation, Reps Service Model, Comms & PR, IT

–       Good level of knowledge about overall industry is required to ensure IMED Digital strategy is competitive in the market




 –       Leading On Site IMED Digital strategies for 4 Countries (Portugal, Spain, Italy and Greece)

–       Oversee and manage On Site Digital projects for the IMED Cluster

–       Proven experience in cross-functional collaboration working in a matrix environment

–       Supervision of multiple online projects / teams at the same time



Problem Solving:

–       High level of complexity

–       Deal with different expectations in regards to Avon’s online projects

–       Managing conflicting requirements by proposing solutions, which covers expectations of numerous business Stakeholders




–       Decisions in line with Cluster business goals

–       Primary impact on Cluster revenue and profit



Interpersonal Skills:

–       Regularly interface with Commercial Marketing, Sales, Customer Service and PR & Communications, IT departments on Global, Cluster and local levels

–       Very close cooperation with Digital external service Providers

–       Everything that is needed for an effective and successful On Site Digital strategy. If not successfully managed this would greatly impact on IMED sales
